The annual Denis Oliver Lecture took place on Friday 6 February 2026 at the Royal Veterinary College, Camden Campus. The evening began with refreshments before a lecture by Liveryman Jim Ferrie FWCF, Hon Fellow GUVS, Hon Associate RCVS, who spoke on “Balance around the forelimb coffin joint,” drawing on decades of experience as an examiner, judge and consultant; a light buffet followed, and after a short interval Eliza Bell, a BHS‑trained equestrian coach, delivered a talk on her experiences leading riding holidays worldwide and the varied shoeing practices she has observed.
The event, which counted towards Farriery CPD and attracted Liverymen, Freemen and veterinary students, was organised by the Livery Committee. Sincere gratitude to Court Assistant Dr Phil Wadey MBE, Chair of the Livery Committee, and Liveryman Dr Suzie Armstrong for their invaluable assistance in organising and coordinating the event.
We are delighted that Liveryman Robert Oliver, son of Denis, was able to attend the lecture.
Photography from the event can be found on the Sam Lane photography website.
