The Company is proud of its diverse membership, which includes craft farriers, veterinary surgeons, and individuals committed to the welfare of horses, the craft of farriery, and the City of London. Since admitting ladies to the Livery in 1975, preceded by the first female Freemen in 1762, the Company has continued to reflect the increasing number of female farriers in its membership. Notably, HRH The Princess Royal, a Past Master (1984–85), for which we are her Mother Company.
