The title "Master Farrier" is a legally registered trademark of the Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) and may only be used by approved farriers who have met the eligibility criteria and obtained official recognition from the WCF.

 

To be eligible for the title, applicants must:

1. Hold either the Associateship (AWCF, including AFCL) or the Fellowship (FWCF) qualification by examination.

2. Honorary Fellows are not eligible unless they have also obtained the AWCF or FWCF through examination.

3. Ensure that the title "Master Farrier" is always presented alongside the relevant WCF qualification, e.g., "Name, AWCF Master Farrier" or "Name, FWCF Master Farrier."

 

Master Farrier Award Benefits:

1. Waiver of the Freedom Fine and first year’s Quarterage for the Freedom of the Company (if applied for within one year of the award).

2. A Master Farrier Medal, Certificate, and an invitation to a welcome dinner or luncheon. 

3. For those applying for Livery membership within one year of receiving the Master Farrier award:

   • The Livery Fine is reduced by 50% 

   • The annual Livery Quarterage remains payable.
