Supporting the Worshipful Company of Farriers Charitable Trust 1994
Charitable giving lies at the heart of the Livery. Through the Worshipful Company of Farriers Charitable Trust 1994, the Company is proud to support initiatives that reflect our long-standing commitment to farriery, the welfare of the horse, and the wider equine community.
Our Core Mission
The Trust’s charitable work is closely aligned with the aims and values of the Worshipful Company of Farriers, supporting:
-
Education: Training connected with the craft of farriery.
-
Benevolence: Assisting farriers and their families in times of hardship or need.
-
Equine Welfare: Promoting initiatives that contribute to the health and care of horses.
-
Civic Engagement: Other charitable causes approved by the Trustees.

Key Charitable Activities
-
The Equine Veterinary Studies Award: Provides undergraduate veterinary students with five days of first-hand experience working alongside a farrier. This placement offers invaluable insight into the relationship between farriery, veterinary medicine, and equine welfare, at no cost to the student.
-
City and Civic Charities: The Trust supports a range of schools and academies, the Mansion House Scholarship Scheme, the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, and other selected City of London initiatives.
-
Equine Welfare: We support organisations and initiatives whose work directly contributes to the health, care, and welfare of horses.
How to Support the Trust
The Trust relies entirely on the generosity of Liverymen, members, guests, and supporters. Its work is funded through regular giving, one-off donations, and legacies.
