Eligibility and Requirements

Applicants to become a Freeman of the Company must meet the following criteria:

  • An interest in or connection to farriery, equestrian activities or related fields, or the City of London and its Livery traditions.

  • Commit to upholding the values and traditions of the Worshipful Company of Farriers.

  • Pay the applicable Freedom Fine and Quarterage as outlined in the attached terms.

Applicants to become a Liveryman of the Company must meet the following additional criteria:

  • Be admitted as a Freeman of the Company.

  • Obtain the Freedom of the City of London and participate in its civic traditions and activities, while promoting fellowship within the Livery community.

  • Actively support the Company’s farriery and charitable activities.

  • Pay the applicable Livery Fine and Quarterage as outlined in the attached terms.

The City of London and Civic Engagement

Membership of the Worshipful Company of Farriers connects you to the historic traditions of the City of London, its governance, and its vibrant civic activities. As a Liveryman, you will have opportunities to participate in the City’s ceremonial events, such as the Lord Mayor’s Show.

Notes

  • Applications are subject to approval by the Court of the Worshipful Company of Farriers

  • Successful applicants will be contacted with details of the Freedom and Livery ceremonies.

  • Membership fees are payable upon acceptance of the application.
