Preparing for the AWCF Exam

Certified Journeymen Farriers who have two years farriery experience since passing the AFA CJF may apply for the WCF Diploma, which is a pre-requisite for taking the AWCF examination. An application form for the CJF-DipWCF can be downloaded from this link.
AWCF Examination Dates
The next set of Higher Examinations will take place at the Defence Animal Centre on 18 and 19 October 2010. Applications must be received by 6 September 2010.
The following set of Higher Examinations will take place at the Defence Animal Centre on 18 and 19 April 2011. Applications must be received by 25 February 2011.
Mentors
A number of senior farriers and veterinary surgeons have offered their services as mentors for the higher examinations. To obtain a list please contact the Registrar.
AWCF Examination - North America
Following a very successful examination session at the Heartlands Horseshoeing School at Lamar, Missouri, one candidate was awarded his FWCF and three others achieved the AWCF. Four more passed one of the AWCF modules, a major step to achieving the AWCF.
North American Farriers who are interested in future examinations should initially contact Mr Chris Gregory FWCF. If there is sufficient interest, it is planned to hold a set of Higher Examinations again in the USA during the period 20-24 October 2011. These dates may be subject to change.
